The Library has installed the Kurzweil 3000 software on two PCs at the 1st
floor Reference Counter.
This software enables persons who are visually impaired to read independently from
any digital text document on the PC or the network, including web pages.
The Kurzweil 3000 software package includes a printed Welcome guide, a printed
Reference Guide, a printed Reference Card, a printed Study Skills Guide, an
electronic tutorial on CD-ROM, and an online help system.
Like the library's Kurzweil print scanner, the software is designed as a "personal
reader", but still has many valuable uses in a library setting.
Drop by the library's Reference Counter for a look-see!
