This is a message for all of you who are Sheila's friends. I spoke to her
this morning and she had the results of the bone marrow biopsy that was
done last Thursday. According to her doctor her leukemia is in remission
after the course of chemotherapy she has received. This does not mean she
is completely out of the woods, though. Her immune system is still
seriously compromised because of that therapy, and she cannot receive any
visits. Her spirits continue to be very high. I find it amazing that she
has been so optimistic and has maintained such a positive attitude
throughout her treatment. She tells me the notes and cards she has
received have really cheered her during the doubtful days (she never said
"dark days") she has been through. I hope you will keep sending them
because they really mean a lot to her.
