The Use of Multivariable Models to Analyze Medical Data
Abstract. I will discuss the major models used in analyzing medical data
(logistic regression, ordinary least square regression and Cox proportional
hazard models). I will speak primarily about lr models though everything I
say will be applicable to ols and cph models. I'll use examples from a large
data set recently collected in Hamilton County. I will talk about real world
problems like missing data and overfitting.
Students with concentration in Actuarial Sciences are strongly encouraged to
attend.
