Thanks, Molly. Wow, what a week!!!

Hey, folks, if you have students who cannot make the Friday evening
performance of Much Ado, we have a 10:30 am performance at the Hayes. The
student rate for the matinee is $5, and we have seats left. This matinee is
partially funded by Allied Arts and Tennessee Arts Commission.

Much Ado About Nothing is Shakespeare's most performed comedy, due in large
part to its popularity on tour in the 19th century. Dangerous Liaisons is a
steamy tale of prurrient intrigue (mature themes), set in 18th century
France. It is hot stuff!

Did you know that the state legislators have voted to cut $245,000 from the
Tennessee Arts Commission budget? This will become effective on November
1st, unless we contact our legislators and say "No!" Not only does the
University suffer from such acts, but the whole community will, from
elementary schoolchildren to senior citizens. The lawmakers say they are
responding to the needs and wants of the constituents. What constituents?

Call, write, e-mail...whatever your favorite way is to tell the state we
need to climb out of the dark ages and into the 21st century, use it. We
only have a few more days. This is serious business. Please help the
schools and arts organizations in Tennessee be heard.

For tickets to Much Ado About Nothing and Dangerous Liaisons, call the box
office at 755-4269.

Thanks,
Kim
