We do process reported spam and it does help the anti-spam system learn what
to block. Please keep sending actual spam to [log in to unmask]
There are three reasons for your seeing more spam:
1) The volume of spam being sent is way up.
2) The spammers get cleverer everyday at evading the anti-spam filtering.
3) We try to be conservative in blocking possible spam to try our best to
avoid blocking legitimate mail.
During Feb. 2006, the campus anti-spam filtering blocked nearly 3/4 of all
email incoming to campus as spam. That is around 3,000,000 spams blocked.
The system saw nearly 30% more spam hitting UTC in Feb. than in Jan.
Thanks,
Richard
