Subject: [UTCSTAFF] Krystals for the Kitchen?
Hello,
Spurred by the recent notes to us all from Jean Howard Hill and Amber
Crystal Beason, I feel compelled to mention something. I totally
agree that we can and should do more, and that the Community Kitchen
is a fantastic place where our hearts should all be.
As far as an organized UTC event, let me mention a pretty good start:
the annual "Beat Hunger" concert, sponsored by our own UTC Music
Department, and performed by the UTC Percussion Ensemble every Fall,
brings between 500 and 600 people to the Hayes Concert Hall, and nets
the Community Kitchen tons of food, and many hundreds of dollars.
The event is planned again for this November 19, and is sure to
continue the tradition, begun 8 years ago! It usually takes the CK
most of the following day to drive off with all the donated food, and
the Music Department does not keep one single cent.
See you there!
Monte
