Friends and Colleagues
Due to widespread public interest, the UTC Jones Observatory season will be extended. We will be open Sunday April 4 and Sunday April 25. Please note our new Spring opening time of 7:00 PM.
April 4 will be a strictly observing evening. If the weather does not lend itself to viewing, we will not open. Gates open at 7:00 PM. We will try to show visitors as much of the five planet alignment as possible. We should be able to see Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn. Mars is a maybe. And, it is about impossible to see Mercury from the observatory. It is simply too low on the horizon to be seen from there.
April 25 will be a regular program. Gates open at 7:00 PM rain, shine, or overcast.
Thank You,
Jack Pitkin
