The Department of Athletics Office of Student Athlete Support Services will
be hiring students and adjunct faculty for positions in the MOCS Center for
Fall 2005 and Spring 2006. Our staff would greatly appreciate the assistance
of the faculty in identifying qualified students for these positions.

The Mocs Center provides tutoring in all subject areas and will be hiring
Academic Coaches to supplement the work of our new Learning Specialist.

If you have students that would be interested in working with our program,
please have them contact my office. The pay range varies by discipline and
past tutoring experience (typically $8-12 per hour). The hours for tutoring
vary but are primarily held during the evening hours.

TUTORING SERVICES:

Subject areas with the majority of tutoring need:

Math & Stats (all levels); All Sciences (particularly Anatomy,
Geology, Biology, and Chemistry); Spanish; Psychology; Business, Accounting,
and Finance; Literature/Humanities; World Civilization

LEARNING ASSISTANCE SERVICES (part of the Academic Game Plan and Freshman
Success Program):

Academic Coaches ($8-10 per hour) are needed to work with conditionally
admitted, academic probationary status students, academically &
motivationally at-risk students and students identified with Learning
Disabilities. These staff members will work with the Director and the
Learning Specialist to implement strategies to help the students become more
successful by enhancing their time management skills, academic organization
and planning, adaptation of specific learning styles within the classroom
setting, and academic monitoring. These positions would be great for
students interested in one-on-one learning enhancement with backgrounds and
interest in exceptional learning and mentoring.
