The Chattanooga Writers Guild will be offering a variety of free writing
workshops next week at UTC (in partnership with the UTC English
Department).  These are free and open to the public & I encourage you to
attend.



When: Tuesday, November 9th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. (see detailed
schedule below)



Where:  UTC University Center (2nd Floor: Hiwassee, Sequoyah, Ocoee and
Fortwood Rooms);



Workshops to be offered:



CWG Overview: Jennifer Hoff (brief session offered once)



Sessions 1 & 2:



Poetry 101: Helga Kidder, local poet and English Instructor from
Chattanooga State



Fiction Writing: Rebecca Cook, UTC English Instructor & graduate of the
English Master's Program



What Editors Do and Tips for Writers: Jane Lael, local professional
editor



Legal Issues for Writers: Julian Goodrich, retired lawyer and CWG
President-Elect; currently working on novel



Schedule:



6:00 to 6:15: CWG Overview: by Jennifer Hoff.  If you are new to the CWG
or a long-time member who wants to learn more about the independent
writing groups and other recent activities of the CWG, this workshop is
for you. This workshop will only be offered at 6:00.



6:25-7:25: First Workshop Session (select one of the four workshops
listed above; these will be offered in both sessions, so you can attend
two!)



7:35-8:35: Second workshop Session (select one of the four workshops
listed above; these will be offered in both sessions, so you can attend
two!)



8:35-9:00: Network with other writers, talk to writing group leaders.
