Melissa Burchfield asked if the Athletics Budget I presented in an
earlier Raven message was budgeted or expenditures. I should have
labeled it budget details (corrected below) since it represents
budgeted amounts not expenditures. The expenditures could be more
and I believe that Athletics may have expended more than the
budgeted amounts in the past, but I don't have that information.
Also, the added costs of fringe benefits for salaries may not be a
part of the budget so that could also add quite a bit more. So
athletics may expend much more than 5.6 million. My point of this
example is that Faculty Senate and Faculty should have clear
information about how much is spent in all the different areas of
UTC and not just academics.
