Nobel Laureate Vernon Smith, will speak in the Burkett Miller Distinguished
Lecture Series on Thursday, September 18, at noon in Roland Hayes
Hall. Dr. Smith will address the topic of "Freedom, Economic Theory and
Experiment."
Dr. Smith is currently Professor of Economics and Law at George Mason
University, a research scholar in the Interdisciplinary Center for Economic
Science, and a Fellow of the Mercatus Center in Arlington, VA. He holds a
Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard.
Dr. David E. R. Gay, of the University of Arkansas, will critique Dr.
Smith's remarks.
Sponsored by the Scott L. Probasco, Jr. Chair of Free Enterprise, this
