Signal Mountain Room at the University Center

6-8 PM

$10 general admission/ $5 students and seniors

Bhante Wimala, a Theravedan Buddhist monk and founder of the Triple Gem
Society in Princeton, NJ, will give a presentation on his worldwide
humanitarian efforts. Bhante is from Sri Lanka and has been working there
for two years building villages and temples for the people who lost their
homes to the tsunami.

His TGS has built orphanages and homes for children in Rwanda, donated
medical and hospital equipment in Africa and Sri Lanka, provided
scholarships to children who otherwise could not go to school, and has
spearheaded a community based education program in western Kenya aimed at
eradicating the practice of female circumcision. In this country, he
founded prison ministries in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In the Czech
Republic, he began the Lotus Center in Prague and recently opened the
Samadhi Center, a meditation retreat center in the village of Tupadly.

Please join us for an evening presentation and talk and on Saturday, Oct 7
from 10-6, Bhante will teach a beginner's meditation workshop at Madia's
Studio on the southside. Pre-registered: $50 general/$45 students by Sept
30. Lunch and a yoga stretch is included.

All proceeds go directly to the Triple Gem Society's humanitarian fund.

This program is sponsored by the Triple Gem Society Southeast, the Dept. of
Philosophy and religion, Women's Studies, and the Women's Action Council.
