Do not let the chilly weather stop you from coming back to campus tonight
and hearing a terrific night of percussion music.
Under the direction of Dr. Monte Coulter, the UTC Percussion Ensemble
presents BEAT HUNGER 2002 at 8 p.m., tonight, Monday, November 25 at the
Roland Hayes Concert Hall, UTC Fine Arts Center.
The ensemble will perform pieces by percussion composers Gillingham, G.H.
Green and Lepak, as well as transcriptions by Mozart. Instruments will
range from a 5-octave rosewood marimba to the more exotic bowed crotales
and lion's roar. A special treat this
year is the inclusion of Dr. Lee Harris, UTC music faculty member and
tenor, in a rare cameo appearance.
Suggested admission donation is two non-perishable food items or a $2 check
(state auditors discourage the collecting of cash donations on a state
campus) to the Chattanooga Community Kitchen.
