Wow! and maybe Gee Whillikers:

	I don't know exactly how Chaucer was originally dragged into 
into this extended brouhaha about laptops and literacy; but I must 
say that I am stunned by the spectacle of someone declaring to be "a 
strictly Am. Lit.fan" being tempted to vote for "doing away" with 
Chaucer.  That's a bit like a math major,  a "strictly arithmetic 
fan" being tempted to "do away" with vector calculus.

	Time, perhaps, to put an end to the discussion for the nonce.
