Have you ever wondered about the history of the Carousel in Coolidge Park?
Learn about that history and the process of self-publishing a nonfiction
work at this month's Chattanooga Writers Guild meeting:

Carol Lannon, former instructor at UTC and author of "Carving A Dream: The
Story of the Chattanooga Carousel," will be speaking at the Chattanooga
Writers Guild monthly meeting this coming Tuesday:

When: Tuesday, November 13th, 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Where: The Lutheran School in East Ridge

More about the book:

Published in December, 2000, the book chronicles the restoration of the
Coolidge Park Carousel, an original 1895 machine that had been stripped and
left for dead in Atlanta.  All 52 animals, along with the rounding boards,
chariots, scenic panels, and organ were restored, with unique personal
touches added by the dozens of people who participated in the project.
"Carving A Dream" is a record of this remarkable accomplishment, filled
with color photos and details about the carvers and the critters they
created.  It is available at stores along
