Poet Wyatt Prunty will give a reading & book signing at Rock Point Books
this Friday - the event is free and open to the public. Prunty is the
author of six collections of poetry and one book of criticism, and he is
a frequent reviewer and essayist for poetry and literary journals. Dr.
Prunty also is the director of the Sewanee Writers' Conference, one of
the preeminent conferences in the country, attracting nationally-known
novelists, poets, and playwrights.
When: Friday, January 19th at 7pm
Where: Rock Point Books
More about the author: Prunty received his B.A. from the University of
the South: Sewanee, where he studied under Allen Tate and Andrew Lytle.
He went on to receive his M.A. from Johns Hopkins University and his
Ph.D. from Louisiana State University. The New York Times Book Review
has praised Prunty's poems, stating that "he displays an inherent
understanding of the fact that comedy and tragedy, both on the page and
off, coexist more often than not."
