The Community Outreach Partnership Center (COPC)

The Martin Luther King Neighborhood Association (MLKNA)
will host the first in a series of community workshops.

You are invited to attend this free workshop!

The Community Organization/ Political Development Workshops will consist of
two parts:

        1. Your Community is Changing!
        Saturday, March 23, 2002
        9:00-11:00 a.m.
        Bessie Smith Hall

This workshop will provide the latest information regarding the proposed
"two-way pair", commercial development along MLK and the services available
to the community. Dr. Stephanie Bellar, UTC Professor of Political Science,
will be facilitating this workshop.

        2. Grassroots Community Problem Solving
        Saturday, March 23, 2002
        11:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.
        Bessie Smith Hall

How are grassroots efforts able to address issues in the community to
improve the quality of life for all? The workshop will be presented by
Dr. Shela Van Ness, UTC Professor of Sociology.
