The first American was put into orbit today in 1961. His name was Enos, a
chimp. He made 2 orbits in a Mercury capsule.

Would you like to see something far out? How far can you see with unaided
eyes? Locate The Great Galaxy in Andromeda over head at the zenth. It is
2,500,000 x 6,000,000,000,000 miles away or 2.5 million light years away.
The Galaxy covers 3 degrees of the sky, half the field of view of
binoculars. To bad you folks in Greater Chattanooga can't see it because of
the lights shining into the sky. See http://www.ida.org to see what you can
do about it.
