Dear all,
I am in desperate need of African American students to serve as Mentors for
our 3rd annual HH Battle Mentors Day being held next Wednesday. My normal
avenues appear to have been exhausted and I am still 40 students short.
The Mentors would escort students to prearranged classed at 7:50am and
8:50am, sit in class with them, and then escort them back to the Tennessee
Room.
For their trouble they'll get a free t-shirt, free breakfast and lunch, and
the opportunity to win lots of great prizes. Oh and most importantly the
chance to give something back to the community from whence they came.
So if you have any students you can persuade to participate I would
appreciate it. Please have them email me or the program directly at

Thanks in advance for your support.
Melissa
Ps. As always I have a poster I can email you individually if you prefer.
The HH Battle Professorship is a private fund set up through donations from
the local community. Its intention is to raise awareness amongst
Chattanoogan African American school children about the possibilities of a
college-education.
HH Battle Mentors Day will match Howard High School students with classes
across all disciplines taught between 8-10am on Wed. Feb. 22nd 2006. The
idea is to immerse underprivileged students in the college experience for
the morning.
