Kudos for the deal struck with CARTA. We are starting to make some positive
changes. I noticed a lot of energy at the move-in picnic on friday and
again on Saturday. My freshman are excited about being here and even some
of my older students have remarked about the life UTC is developing. Before
any of you typical nay sayers start blasting the lack of parking let me
assure you that it is much more difficult at other places...and costlier.
Some of us walked a half mile from parking to buildings at KU and at Xavs
(in chicago) we paid $7 per day to park. Having busses on campus just
"feels" right. A lot of things this year just "feel" right. Okay
folks...blast away on salaries and the extra walk and the way money is
being mispent...as for me...I remain excited and optimistic about what
promises to be an exceptional year!
