Nelda Orth's posting to the Raven on Tue, 23 Mar 1999 14:31:57 noted that
the Bursar's Office had received cash through the campus mail. As a
reminder, University Fiscal Policy Statement 05 Section 20 Part 01
Paragraph C, 3.b. states, "Cash should never be sent through campus mail."
Paragraph B, 2. of the same section states, "Departments or activities that
only occasionally receive money and do not maintain a receipt book should
not accept currency payments, but instead direct the payor to the Bursar's
Office to obtain an official receipt."
It is possible that the cash was sent inadvertently to the Bursar's Office
and some department is missing their flower fund, coffee fund, etc. Please
check around your offices to see if this is the case. (Ms. Orth has checked
with the previous names crossed out on the envelope to try to idenfity the
source.)
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call
or reply back to this message.
