Does Your Dog Bite?

We can take comfort and find wisdom in the classic texts of antiquity, the
sacred words of the Bible, the great works of writers and philosophers and,
of course, Pink Panther movies. For some strange reason, our discourse on
SOT (Sort of Tenure) implementation reminds me of the scene where Inspector
Clouseau (Peter Sellers) checks into an Inn with a mean looking snarling dog:

"Does your dog bite?" Clouseau warily asks the sullen inn-keeper.

"No."

Whereupon Clouseau approaches the desk and is savagely bitten by the dog.

"I thought you said your dog doesn't bite!!" he screams in agony, attempting
to detach the dog from his leg.

"That's not my dog!"
