Dr. Eugene Bartoo of the College of Education and Applied Professional
Services recently received $320,516 from the U.S. Department Education for
the
Tri-It Project. This is the third year of support from the U.S. Department
of Education for this project.

Tri-It is a collaborative partnership among UTC (the lead partner),
UTK, the Tennessee Department of Education, and high-need schools
in Hamilton and Knox Counties. The overall goal is to recruit and increase
the number of teachers in Tennessee classrooms. This program recruits
college students and provides adequate preparation so students become
qualified teachers and remain in the profession for the long term.

Best wishes to Dr. Bartoo for the continued success of this project.
