Please note a couple of items that have come up in the
move of the campus email to Netmail.
Email addresses. Your UTC email address is of the format
[log in to unmask] The dash between first and last
name is required. Underscores ("_"), periods, and spaces
cannot be substituted. We have heard reports of some
uncertainty about this. Just like a phone number, your email
address needs to be accurate to be delivered. Email
addressed to your UTCID will also be delivered, but the
firstname-lastname format is your official UTC email address.
This applies to student email addresses as well as employees.
Delivery of UTCSTAFF messages, and sometimes other mailing
list messages, have been delayed at times, sometimes
significantly delayed. We are working with Novell to resolve
this problem.
You may have experienced some interruptions and delays of
email services since Monday. These were due to adjustments we
have been making in Netmail to verify and enhance performance
and to work on the problem of mailing list message delivery.
Thanks for working with us during this period of change,
Richard
