According to Apple a new vulnerability has been discovered in FreeBSD,
the basis for OS X. Quote, "The vulnerability has specifically been
reported to affect the FTPServer and Libc projects.Successful
exploitation may grant a malicious person "root" privileges." All OS
X users are strongly suggested to use Software Update or download the
patch directly from the Bulletin.
