I thought I would take a moment to remind those who have recently joined
our University, or any long-time employees who may have recently moved
within the Chattanooga area, that today is the last day to establish or
change voter registration and be eligible to vote in the November 5th
election. According to the Hamilton County Election Commission web site
at http://www.hamiltontn.gov/electioncommission/voteinfo.htm#register
"In order to participate in an election, a qualified voter must be
properly registered no later than thirty (30) days before the election."
So, next week will be too late.
The Election Commission office is at 514 East Fourth Street, very near
campus, and is open M-F 8:00 to 4:00, so if you are a Tennessee resident
and not registered at your current residence, be sure to get over there
this afternoon and take care of business so you can exercise your right
to vote on November 5th!
