UTC SECURITY-GRAM
CAMPUS LAW ENFORCEMENT
DALE "MAC" MCNEELY - DIRECTOR LARRY C. LOCKMILLER
OPERATIONS LT.
THEFT PREVENTION
The University Police Department has calculated that approximately 85% of
all reported incidents occurring on our campus involve property
thefts. THE VAST MAJORITY OF THESE THEFTS ARE PREVENTABLE.
We, the University Police Department, trust that these few suggestions will
assist you in helping us prevent crime and protect your property while on
the UTC campus.
* Keep a record of serial numbers, brand names, and description of valuable
items. Mark your goods (Property of UTC).
* Never leave your wallet, purse, or other property lying out in the
open. KEEP IT WITH YOU OR LOCK IT AWAY.
* Never prop a door open for someone who does not have a key; do not loan
your keys to others.
* When leaving your residence hall, even temporarily, make sure you lock
your room and dead bolt the common entry apartment
door behind you.
* Be security conscious at all times, never prop your door open, get
involved, don't be a victim of carelessness.
* Report any suspicious actions, sounds, or strangers to the UTC
Police at extension 4357 (HELP).
* If you leave your office, lock your door and file cabinet.
DON'T PROVIDE THE OPPORTUITY FOR THEFT!
REMEMBER: Crime Prevention is everyone's business!
