The staff of the Educational Opportunity Center and the Center for
Community Career Education mourn the loss of our dear friend and
colleague, Wanda Wright. Wanda has been an Educational Advisor with the
Educational Opportunity Center for the past three years helping low
income, first generation students access college. Before that she worked
with Life Planning as a counselor helping women in transition by leading
them in an intensive career counseling workshop. Wanda is a graduate of
UTC's Community Counseling Program. She will be dearly missed by her
colleagues and the many students that she helped to make their
educational dreams come true.
 
The Center for Community Career Education plans to honor Wanda by
establishing a scholarship for an Educational Opportunity Center
participant.
 
Funeral services will be held today, January 5, at 2:30 at the East
Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home at 404 S. Moore Road. The family will
receive friends before the service from 12:00 to 2:00.
