The wall street journal printed an article today about universities "selling time" at the expense of university identity. Read it. I have been working on a similar an article for a sports magazine but could not seem to "get it right". Obviously my lack of experience as a journalist was a factor. Anyway, I am on the CBDNA committee that has been collecting the numbers he speaks of for the last year. Dennis, the journalist, and I spent much time in conversation (mostly about the atrocities committed by KU when I was there) but since UTC is one of the better schools about letting the band play the author used big schools as examples. For those of you unused to discussing such controversy the book "Beer and Circus" is an interesting place to start. About time this type of thing got published. I wish I would have been able to be the one to actually get it done but I am glad it is there.
