As you advise students this semester, you should be aware that there is a
rather serious misprint in the 2001-2002 Undergraduate Catalog in the
description of Math 131. It should include the sentence, "Credit not
allowed in Math 131 after completion of Math 136 or 144 with a grade of C
or better or any other mathematics course for which these are
prerequisites." The word "not" was omitted from the 2001-2002 Catalog.
If you have any questions concerning the mathematics courses that your
advisees should take, please call the Mathematics Department at 4545.
