FORD TOUR DE GEORGIA

STREET AND LANE CLOSURES

 

The City Traffic Engineer's office announced today the following:

 

*	Riverside Drive/Riverfront Pkwy from E. 2nd Street to S. River
Street and the south bound Veterans Bridge ramp will be closed from
Wednesday, April 19th at 8:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21,
2006 for the Ford Tour de Georgia Time Trial & Festival.  
*	Ochs Hwy from the Lookout Mountain City Limits to St. Elmo
Avenue, St Elmo Avenue from Ochs Hwy to Broad Street, south bound
Tennessee Avenue from W. 37th Street  to W 40th Street, the south bound
side of Broad St from to ML King Blvd to St. Elmo Ave, the east bound
side of M.L. King Blvd from Broad Street to Riverfront Pkwy, and the
north bound side of Riverfront Pkwy from ML King Blvd to S. River Street
will be closed from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2006
for the Ford Tour de Georgia Time Stage 3 Chattanooga Time Trial. In
addition, ML King Blvd from Gateway Ave to Riverfront Pkwy will be
closed, Riverside Dr/Riverfront Pkwy from E 2nd St to S. River St and
the south bound Veterans Bridge ramp will be closed, Riverfront Pkwy
from ML King Blvd, Riverfront Pkwy north bound will be closed at Grove
Street, Boynton Drive and Gateway Avenue south of M.L. King Blvd will be
closed to through traffic.  Riverfront Pkwy from S. River Street to M.L.
King Blvd, ML King Blvd from Gateway Ave to Broad St and Broad St from
ML King Blvd to St Elmo Ave will be reduced to one lane in each
direction. North bound St. Elmo Ave traffic will be detoured east on
42nd St and then north on Tennessee Ave.  Motorists will not be allowed
to cross the bike course with the exception of emergency vehicles.

 

Motorists are advised to avoid these areas if at all possible.
