Dr. Oralia Preble-Niemi has been selected to serve on the U.S. Department
of Education's review panel to evaluate proposals for the Foreign Language
Assistance Grants Program. This program, which is offered through the
Office of
Bilingual and Minority Languages Affairs (OBEMLA), provides
grants to assist educational agencies in establishing, improving, or
expanding
foreign language instruction for elementary and secondary students.

Congratulations to Dr. Preble-Niemi for being recognized on her expertise
in this area. Her service will help improve foreign language instruction
in schools while reflecting well on UTC.
