RE: Chattanooga Area Food Bank
The recent hurricanes and floods that have devastated the eastern coast of
our country has depeleted our area food bank, along with the fact that the
Food Bank distributes over 40,000 pounds of food each month to persons in
our area.
This food goes to families who are displaced for a short period of time,
unemployed, victims of fire and floods, elderly living on small fixed
incomes and families that for some reasons have fallen on hard times for a
period.
With the expression of good wishes and support from Vice Chancellor
Richard Brown and my Chiefs, Carol and Mac, I have contacted the
Chattanooga Area Food Bank and obtained four (4) food barrels to be placed
in our Administrative Services building and one has been requested by Tom
Losh, Assistant Director of Student Affairs, to be placed in the University
Center.
The Food Bank needs non-perishable foods, (i.e. canned vegetables, fruits,
peanut butter, soups, baby food, dried beans, rice, pasta, powered milk,
etc....)to restock their shelves. Along with the help of Doug Silver, we
will place the three barrels in the Administrative in the foyer of the
Physical Plant Office, one in Personnel and one in the Department of Public
Safety.
If you need more information or help with your food, contact me via e-mail
([log in to unmask]) or my office. If I am for some reason away from
my office or area, please contact Ms. Sandra Jones (my partner in crime) in
Parking Services and she can help you.
I want to also take this time to thank you in advance your help in making
this a successful collection for our community from the UTC Campus
Community and a better Thanksgiving for a lot of families. All to often we
forget those in our community that are hungry.
Please print this e-mail and post somewhere in your area for those
employees that do not have access to a computer.
Thank you.
