Here's a solution to those nasty tildes. Explain that the tilde may be found by shifting the accent grave key...or is that accent acute???

Now that we are getting over the "teething problems", the new OneNet system
for email, file storage and web hosting seems to be quite good.  However, I
see that we are still using the tilde (~) in personal web addresses, for
example http://oneweb.utc.edu/~Michael-Whittle/
I realize that if you are clicking on a link, it doesn't matter what
punctuation is present, but trying to tell someone, over the phone, what
your web address is, when they are not computer-literate (or a
Spanish-speaker), and have never even heard of a tilde, is a serious, and
quite unnecessary problem.
Hey, OneNet gurus, how about scrapping it?
