Checking my email this evening after being out of town since
mid-week [on unpaid professional/community service], I've scanned 71 emails
including the messages about athletics.
Consequently, my colleagues Dr. Joe Dumas and Dr. Richard Rice have
earned my nomination for The H. Larry Ingle Award. Dr. Dumas attacked a
sacred cow and her steroid steer, administrative budgeting and university
athletics. Dr. Rice defined a simplified budgetary unit that all of us can
relate to, the Lexan. [Unlike his departmental colleague Dr. James
Russell's earlier "Yugo standard," the Lexan (I assume it rhymes with
Texan) has a built-in inflation factor.]
Having stimulated rational and emotional responses within the UTC
"family" and factual clarifications from the chancellor, both Dr. Dumas and
Dr. Rice are fully qualified to be the first recipients of The H. Larry
Ingle Award.
Keep exercising, stay healthy, and good luck on your EDO and tenure
reviews!!!
