Tomorrow evening, August 26, the Music Department presents David Hobbs,
cornet, in a faculty recital entitled "The Golden Age of Brass." Mr.
Hobbs, adjunct professor of trumpet, is principal trumpet of the
Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Huntsville and Nashville
Symphony Orchestras. He is well-known in the Nashville area as a
professional trumpet player, featured on many recordings and national tours.

Appearing with Mr. Hobbs will be Prentiss Hobbs, trombone, Nita Hobbs,
piano and the UTC Trumpet Ensemble, which Mr. Hobbs directs. The program
will feature classic works for brass from the 19th and 20th centuries,
including "Fantasie Brilliante" by Joseph Forestier and "Maid of the Mist"
by Herbert L. Clarke.

The recital will begin tomorrow evening at 7:30 p.m. in Roland Hayes
Concert Hall. There is no admission charge. This will be a great
beginning to our concert season for 2004-05.
