Governor Don Sundquist has proclaimed April 19-23 as Graduate and
Professional Student Appreciation Week in Tennessee. His proclamation
honors the "more than 25,000 graduate and professional students in the
state university systems who are the teachers, doctors, engineers, lawyers,
and business leaders of the future." The governor recognizes that graduate
and professional students "conduct research that increases the world's
knowledge and present their research at national and international
conferences, enhancing the reputation of Tennessee's universities."

Please join me in honoring UTC's graduate students. You are welcome to
attend the Graduate Student Association's reception for outstanding
students this afternoon (Thursday, 4/21) in the Chickamauga Room from 3:30-5.
