Upgrade news:
As of late Friday, The Southeast Center for Education in the Arts has
a new fiber connection to the campus network that provide faster and more
reliable service.
The unplanned outage:
There was an unplanned network outage this afternoon (Friday) between
1:30 and 4:00pm. Rusty Leutz and Jeff Kell, with help from Robbie Rell
(Help Desk), worked to restore service as quickly as possible after
determining the nature of the problem.
The outage stopped access to outside of each of the following buildings
and affected University Center, Mac Gym, Davenport (Health/Hum Svcs),
New Village, Guerry, Arena, Holt, Brock, Central Energy Plant, and the
Challenger Center, for times varying from 1 hour to 2.5 hours.
We are working to analyze what happened and what we can do to reduce the
chance of the same thing happening again.
