Hello,
I am going to be coordinating a new Southern Lit book club in town,
which will be meeting monthly at Rock Point Books downtown. The club is
free and open to the public and will explore the life and selected book
of a Southern author each month. This will be a nice way to prepare for
the 2007 Conference on Southern Literature, scheduled for March 29-31
this year!
January's book selection is Lee Smith's newest novel, On Agate Hill
The club will meet to discuss this novel on Monday, January 29, 2007 at
6:00 PM at Rock Point Books
"Narrative is as necessary to me as breathing, as air. I write for the
reason I've always done so: simply to survive. To make sense of my life.
I never know what I think until I read what I've written." - Lee Smith.
