Dr. Michael Abram from the Cherokee Museum will be speaking at the
Tennessee Aquarium auditorium tonight (9-25) at 6:30. His subject is the
Cherokee and the Long Man (river).

The perspective he'll take is on the meaning of the river in Cherokee
ceremony and ritual, as well as river animals and their importance,
including the three creation myths.

He'll also touch on how the Cherokee use the river in terms of fishing,
transportation, etc. but most of his talk will focus on the medicinal,
religious and spiritual context of the river.

Admission is free.
