It has been some time since I have played a faculty
organ recital, but I want to make the UTC community
aware that I have made an organ recording. A
professional recording engineer was here in late
August to record Chattanooga's Choral Arts at
First-Centenary United Methodist church and he made
himself available to our music program for this organ
recording. The result, "An Organ Celebration" , is
quite exciting. Both CD's and cassettes are being
produced for distribution starting on November 28 at
the church--not on campus.
There are 17 selections on the disc/tape. Dan Bowles
assists me on 3 of them and his trumpet playing is
really fine! A list of the selections for your
information is included on the order form.
Rather than selling the recording, the church is
asking a minimum donation of $15.00 for each
recording. The proceeds will go toward the purchase
of a new rank of pipes for our Schantz organ. $10.00
of that amount is tax deductable. Advanced orders are
being taken now.
Order forms are available in the Music Department
Office; however at your request we can fax one to you
or send it in campus mail. Once you place your
pre-paid order, I can deliver your recording to you on
campus or you can it up at First-Centenary Church
located across from New Village Apartments.
I am really pleased with this recording and want to
make sure that those who appreciate organ music have
an opportunity to get one for themselves or as a
Christmas gift.
I look forward to hearing from you.
