If all you have to do is view and print PDFs, I second Dr. Ward's
previous recommendation of Foxit Reader. When the news of this
vulnerability first came out, I uninstalled Adobe Reader 7 and replaced
it with Foxit. So far, I have been completely happy with this program.
It is smaller and runs faster than Adobe Reader, and has more features.

Adobe Professional may be necessary for some "power users" who need to
make use of advanced features of the PDF format. However, for people
like me who just need to produce class handouts and other small- to
medium-sized documents without a lot of "bells and whistles," let me
suggest another FREE alternative: PrimoPDF.

I am using version 2 ... looks like they have a version 3 available now.
This program just installs as, effectively, a printer driver; PrimoPDF
just appears as another printer on your system in addition to any
physical or network printers you already have. You can print to it from
any Windows program and the result is a PDF file which can be read in
Adobe Reader, Foxit Reader or any program that can view a PDF.
