Marketing and advertising for UTC's fall recruitment is underway.
As we have in the past, we will be recruiting volunteers from all areas of
the university to help make phone calls to prospective students. When
combined with traditional direct mail and advertising efforts, we have
found this to be an effective method of reaching those people who are
thinking about enrolling, but for some reason haven't taken that final
step.  It is also a way to leave the impression that at UTC we strive to
provide personal service and attention -- something larger universities
cannot do and many smaller universities do not take the time to do.
        This year's phone effort will take place in the Adult Services
Center at the University Center June 28-30; July 1, and July 6-9. Shannon
Smith generously agreed to take on the task of recruiting volunteers to
make the calls, while  Leah Geraghty has agreed to devote her time and
energy to the daily site management of each shift.
        A phone campaign such as this will take all of us working together
to pull it off, and for those of you who respond to bribes -- yes, there
will be prizes.

        The two hour shifts are:
        Monday, June 28:        11 a.m.- 1 p.m., 1- 3 p.m., 3-5 p.m.
        Tuesday, June 29:       1-3 p.m., 3-5 p.m., 5-7 p.m.
        Wednesday, June 30:     1-3 p.m., 3-5 p.m., 5-7 p.m.
        Thursday, July 1:       1-3 p.m., 3-5 p.m., 5-7 p.m.
        Tuesday, July 6:        11 a.m.- 1 p.m., 1- 3 p.m., 3-5 p.m.
        Wednesday, July 7:      11 a.m.- 1 p.m., 1- 3 p.m., 3-5 p.m.
        Thursday, July 8:       11 a.m.- 1 p.m., 1- 3 p.m., 3-5 p.m.
        Friday, July 9:         11 a.m.- 1 p.m., 1- 3 p.m., 3-5 p.m.
