Tonight's talk by Michael Linton is about Carson Holloway's book, All Shook
Up, a book which "created a mild sensation when it appeared."
But not here in Chattanooga, because it is not held by the UTC library. I
am sure you can get a mild sensation by ordering it free on Interlibrary
Loan: visit the Library this week for demonstration of their nifty new
electronic machines, including "wireless" laptops. That figures, in an
increasingly bookless library.

Admittedly, I did not really expect to find an important new book at UTC;
what really shakes me up is that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Library
does not have it either. That is surprizing!

However, if your kids have learned, because of Harry Potter, to enjoy
reading actual books (they're thigamajigs made out of paper bound together
and feature real printed words which you can read off-line), then they
might enjoy Barry Denenberg's All Shook Up! The life and Death of Elvis
Presley (YB Pre) a juvenile book which the Hamilton Country Library does
own. As the title suggests, Denenberg thinks the King is dead, so this is a
biased book. I am sure when Elvis reappears here in Chattanooga, it will
cause a mild sensation.
