Dr. Lucien Ellington, UC Foundation Professor in the Teacher Preparation
Academy, has received $57,798 from the Association for Asian Studies for
the continuation of the Education About Asia Journal.
Dr. Ellington will use the grant funds to produce 2003-04 editions of
Education About Asia. This publication began circulation in the spring of
1996, and since then, it has increased its distribution to reach
approximately 10,000 people in 21 countries. Dr. Ellington is the
founding and current editor of the journal, and this year he will continue
the publication s tradition of providing stimulating articles on all areas
of Asian culture. Subjects covered in the journal range from ancient
cultures to current events, and they explore extensive classroom resources
including guides to films, books, curriculum models, websites, and
educational software. Thousands of educators around the world rely on
this publication as a vital tool to enhance their understanding and
instruction of Asian issues.
Congratulations to Dr. Ellington! Your work with Education about Asia
provides an important educational resource for educators and brings
