Dr. Jason Kawall in Philosophy and Religion has received a $3,250 summer
stipend to attend a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer
Institute.

The five-week program, "Environmental Ethics and Issues: Alaska as a Case
Study," will take place at the University of Alaska, Anchorage and will
provide a collaborative study of texts, topics, and ideas central to
undergraduate teaching in the environmental studies field. The Institute
is designed as an integration of ethical theory, environmental issues, and
relevant site visits.

Congratulations to Dr. Kawall on his award and for his participation in a
program that will help create a learning community to enhance scholarship,
instruction, and discourse in environmental studies.
