Why not. Although an actual argument in favor of throwing even more
than 1/3 of the total state budget at an ever-growing fiscal nightmare
full of fraud and waste would have served your point better.

Nah, I'd rather give the taxpayers one.

Whether it is worthwhile or not is questionable, but not the real
question. The fact is that TennCare is unconstitutional. Search
carefully in the U.S. and Tennessee Constitutions; you won't find a
single mention of health care in either of them. Since it is not
constitutionally authorized as a government function at either the state
or federal level, it follows that paying for health care is up to the
individual involved, his or her employer (if they choose to offer health
insurance as a benefit), or to the *voluntary* charity of others. It is
simply not an authorized use of tax dollars, no matter how worthwhile a
cause you or I may think it is.

And yes, I am thankful that some people at least are starting to clue in
on this, and at least reduce the size of the unconstitutional mess somewhat.

Anyway, that's my $0.02; your mileage may vary. I'm signing off now for
the Thanksgiving weekend. See you all when I get back.
