THE TOUR RETURNS!

The Chattanooga Classic Golf Tournament returns professional golf to the
Chattanooga area after a near 11 year absence. There are many volunteer
opportunities still available for this Nationwide PGA Tour event. If you
would like a volunteer registration form, please reply to me at

Transportation: Transport professional golfers, shuttle volunteers and
pro-am participants as needed. Monday-Sunday

Admissions: Greet spectators, sell tickets at entrance to tournament
parking. Thursday-Sunday

Greenside Scorer: Report pros' scores via scoring computer to
communications center. Golf Knowledge required. Thursday-Sunday

Marshals: Gallery control at tees, greens and fairways. Standing and
walking involved. Thursday-Sunday

Standard Bearers: Walk 18 holes with group of pros. Carry sign showing
players' name and score. Thursday-Sunday

Walking Scorers: Walk 18 holes with group of pros. Keep score for players.
Golf knowledge required. Thursday-Sunday

Caddies: Carry pro's golf bag for 18 holes. Very strenuous. Golf knowledge
required. Must be available Monday-Sunday.

Operations: Check signage throughout course and empty trash and recycling
receptacles.

Other volunteer opportunities: runner, driving range and putting green
supervisor, pro-am spotter as well as other duties to be assigned.

Volunteers can choose to work half or full days during the tournament week.
Each volunteer is asked to donate at least 12 hours of time (two half days
or one full) and can note a preference of a stationary or active position
or caddie position. Start times begin at 7:00 a.m and 1:00 p.m. Volunteers
are asked to show up one hour before a shift.

The volunteer fee is $35. This covers uniform costs (shirt and hat), lunch
the days you work, parking, one weekly tournament ticket and one daily
ticket. The fee also includes a volunteer appreciation party on Sunday,
Aug. 3 following the completion of play. A round of golf at Black Creek is
also included (player must pay $14 cart fee). Choose from one of three days
this fall at orientation. Black Creek was named a "Top 100 Modern Golf
Course" by GolfWeek magazine after only two years.

Student volunteer fee is $10 and includes t-shirt, meals on days you work,
parking pass, one weekly tournament ticket and one daily tournament ticket.

General volunteer orientation will be from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday,
July 22 at Black Creek Club. Scoring volunteer (walking scorers, greenside
scorers, scoring, marshals) orientation will be Thursday, July 24 from 6:00
- 7:30 p.m.

The Chattanooga Classic is a Nationwide PGA Tour event featuring 156
professional golfers. The event will take place at Black Creek Club in
Cummings Cove. All proceeds go to benefit The First Tee of Chattanooga.
