Folks,

Dr. Al Gara, IBM Fellow and Chief Architect of the BlueGene super computer
will be giving a talk tomorrow, October 18, 2006, at the SimCenter at 11am.
He will talk about the architecture and design of the BlueGene/L system as
well as the future BlueGene/P project.

Dr. Alan Gara is the Chief Architect of the IBM BlueGene/L Supercomputer,
and was named an IBM Fellow, the highest award for an IBM technologist. His
design achieved the top spot in three consecutive TOP 500 lists for
supercomputing power. IBM BlueGene/L was lauded for its performance, and
innovative architecture that consumes much less power than other
supercomputers, the design uses common components to simplify manufacturing,
installation, use and maintenance.

I wish to thank our partners in this activity - IBM, The Riverbend
Technology Institute and the Chattanooga Technology Council.
