LADY MOCS RECEIVE VOTES IN DIVISION I TOP 25 COACHES POLL

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The Chattanooga women's basketball team received some
national recognition today garnering two votes in the USA Today ESPN
Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll.

The Lady Mocs posted a narrow 72-68 victory over UNC Greensboro at the
McKenzie Arena Monday night and ran its win streak to 16 consecutive games,
second only to No. 1 ranked North Carolina. Chattanooga, 17-3, leads the
Southern Conference with an 11-0 league record and needs three more wins to
claim its seventh consecutive regular season conference title. The Lady Mocs
are ranked 14th in the nation with a winning percentage of 85.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that Chattanooga has received votes
in a national poll. According to CollegeRPI.com, UTC has an RPI rating of
34. RPIRatings.com lists the Lady Mocs with a RPI rating of 38.

Chattanooga will host Appalachian State in a televised game Saturday, Feb. 4
in the third of a three-game homestand. It will be the first live broadcast
of a SoCon women's basketball game this season. The Spartans and Georgia
Southern played on television earlier this season in a tape-delay broadcast.
Tip-off will be at 6 p.m. and carried live on Comcast/Charter Sports
Southeast.
